Other Restrictions: All other agencies providing emergency assistance should be exhausted prior to accessing Unmet Needs program through the Center. Age 60 or older --EPIC program age 65 or older. Must have 2 ADL's from area agency AAA unmet needs and caregiver. Must give income. Can only pay one bill.
Other Comments: Services covered include, but are not limited to: prescription assistance, chore services, medical care not covered by insurance and home help outside of that available in Homemaker assistance. Income eligibility limited up to the 200% mark of poverty level for 2002 ($1485 for single; $1999 for couples). Those ineligible for EPIC will be given higher priority than those already served by EPIC.

The Area Agency on Aging allocates and monitors state and federal grants to counties for home delivered meals, homemaker, bathing, adult day care, legal services, and other services. The Hillsdale County Senior Services Center administers most of these direct services in Hillsdale County.

Medicaid Waiver services include: all grant services identified above, and counseling, non-medical transportation, respite care for caregivers, medical equipment & supplies, and home modifications. These services are purchased from local providers.

Region 2 Area Agency on Aging clients are assessed by a nurse and a social worker to determine their needs and then they will help them locate and manage services to meet those needs.
